• Resumen

  El ambiente ha sido desde hace unos años el concepto que ha venido a renovar los estudios sociales, siendo los historiadores los más rezagados en incorporarlo en sus investigaciones y en su práctica profesional. La historia del concepto de ambiente -un a historia epistemológica que es producto del movimiento ambiental latinoamericano- habrá de responder a la pregunta sobre la historia ambiental. La construcción social de la complejidad ambiental es la complejización de lo real, del conocimiento, de la producción, de las racionalidades, del tiempo y de las identidades, y su hermenéutica. La historia ambiental pasa de la coevolución de la naturaleza y la cultura, de la codeterminación de procesos culturales, demográficos, ecológicos, económicos, a ocuparce en la actualidad un campo donde se confrontan estrategias diferenciadas de apropiación de la naturaleza y donde se reafirman identidades en la reconfiguración del orden geo-político-económico mundial.

• Abstract

  The environment has been for years the concept that has come to renew the social studies, being historian.? the iast ones in incorpórate it in its investigations and their profesiona l practice. The history of the environment concept - a n epistemologic history that is product of the Lalin American environmental social movement-, will have to respond to the cjuestion on environmental history. The social construction of the environmental complexity is the "complexization" of the reality. the knowledge, the production, the rationalities. the time and the idenüties. and its hermencutics. Environmental history passes from the coevolution of the nature and the culture, through the codetermination of cultural, demographic, ecological, economic processes, to oceupy at the present time a field where differentiated strategies of nature's appropriation are conl'ronted, and where identities in the reconfiguration of world-wide geo-politicaleconomic order are reaffirmed.
